Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) – On 10/21/2023 at about 12:25 PM, the Alaska State Troopers received a theft report involving $10,040 in cash stolen from a property in Saxman. 

A suspect was immediately developed and reported to have fled the area on foot. AST searched the area for the suspect who was identified as Robert Strong, age 39 of Ketchikan but did not locate Strong. At about 1740 hours, AST located and contacted Strong exiting a business in the 2100 Block of Sea Level Drive.

After completion of a Search Warrant on Strong, it was found that Strong was in possession of $8709.00 of U.S. Currency hidden on his person. Further investigation revealed that Strong was violating current conditions of release set by the Ketchikan Courthouse from the original charges of Theft in the 4th Degree.

Strong was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center on the charges of Theft in the 2nd Degree, and VCOR with No Bail.
