Alaska Wildlife Troopers respond to injured hiker on Mt. Edgecumbe Trail

Sitka, Alaska (KINY) - Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to injured hiker on Mt. Edgecumbe Trail on Sept. 24th.

On 9/24/23, at approximately 3:58 PM, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post received a report of an injured 17-year-old hiker approximately 4 miles up the Mt. Edgecumbe trail, on Kruzof Island. The hiker was unable to walk and required rescue. A United Stated Coast Guard helicopter responded and transported the injured person back to Sitka.
