On September 24th, at approximately 5 PM, Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Wrangell received a report of an overdue boater on the Stikine River. The individual was expected home on September 23rd but did not check in. Wrangell Search and Rescue conducted a search of the area by airplane and boat and located the individual near Shakes Glacier on September 24th at approximately 6:58 PM. The individual was transported to Wrangell unharmed but appreciative of rescue efforts. Mechanical issues were the cause for the overdue circumstance.
