Sitka, Alaska (KINY) - The City and Borough of Sitka Canvass Board will convene on Friday, Oct. 6, to canvass the remaining ballots.

CBS has released the unofficial results for the Oct. 3 municipal election.

The candidates currently leading for the Areawide Assembly seats are Timothy Pike at 1,212, and JJ Carlson at 1,085. The assembly open seats offer two 3-year terms and one 1-year term. 

The candidates currently leading for School Board seats are Tom Williams with 1,206 votes and Phil Burdick, an official write-in candidate that has 425 votes.

Proposition number one for the school board is strongly leaning toward a yes vote at 1,200 votes or 76.9%.

Proposition number two for seasonal sales tax is also leaning towards a yes vote at 1,014 votes or 64.2%.
