Congratulations are in order for the Juneau-Douglas Yadaa.at Kalé Crimson Bears hockey squad as they took third place at the 2025 ASAA Hockey State D2 Championships in Soldotna this weekend.
The No. 6 seed Bears started off the tournament last Thursday by defeating the No. 3 Houston Hawks, 5-4.
With that win under their belts, J-D faced No. 2 Palmer, giving up the loss 5-2 to the Moose. Juneau rebounded, however, in the tournament’s third-place game by besting No. 5 Kenai Central 5-3.
The Palmer Moose went on to win the state title with a 9-1 thrashing of top-seeded Soldotna on Saturday.
