Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – Eaglecrest will not be operational on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3.
Snow is in the forecast this week and Eaglecrest is watching all the forecast models on a daily basis. They continue to make snow whenever possible.
Even with the new snow, they will need quite a bit more than it’s calling for this week.
They look ahead to Dec. 9 as their tentative new opening day, and as soon as conditions allow they will open for the season.
As Eaglecrest gears up for the season, people can still lock in their passes at the front counter, visit the retail shop, and move into lockers.
As Eaglecrest receives more snow, keep in mind that early-season hazards and conditions exist.
The snow is shallow on the mountain.
Steer clear of snowmaking equipment, cables, and hoses.
