Fireside Lecture “Light of the Inside Passage and Beyond”

Lighthouses have served as navigational beacons for over 100 years and in recent decades have become shining icons for maritime preservation. Gary Gillette, President of the Gastineau Channel Historical Society, will provide an overview of our beloved lighthouses in SE Alaska and his group’s work on the lighthouse of Sentinel Island, the effort to maintain the lighthouse as an educational and recreational attraction, and the ongoing need for community support, i.e. you!
