Saving Juneau’s Theater Organ – Free Concert and Lecture

Concert at noon State Office Building

Guest organist Jonas Nordwall will present a free noon concert for the public in the 8th floor atrium. Nordwall is a virtuoso organist of both classical and popular music, a recording artist with over 50 years of international performances, and a member of the American Theater Organ Society Hall of Fame.
Alaska State Museum conservator Ellen Carrlee will give a brief lecture about the history of Juneau’s theater organ, followed by a public discussion about the future of the instrument. Experts in attendance will include Chris Nordwall of Rose City Organ Builders in Portland, renowned organist Jonas Nordwall, and many of Juneau’s own organists, musicians, and music advocates. The presentation will be generously recorded by KTOO as part of the β€œAt The APK” lecture series.
