Con Brio Chamber Series teams up with The Orpheus Project to present a very special performance of the music of 20th century French composer of Olivier Messiaen. The one-hour concert will feature the epic work, The Quartet for the End of Time, which the composer wrote during his imprisonment at a WWII prisoner of war camp. The piece will be performed by local musicians William Todd Hunt, clarinet, Elena Levi, violin, Ben Holtz, cello, and pianist Jamila Hla Shwe of Fairbanks. Pianist Kyle Farley-Robinson and flutist Sally Schlichting will perform Messiaen’s Le Merle Noir, a tribute to the composer’s passion as an amateur ornithologist.  Performances are Friday, April 18 at 7:30pm at UAS Egan Library and Saturday, April 19, 2pm at the Alaska State Museum.  Both performances are pay-as-you-can.
