A Texas appeals court has upheld the 50-year prison sentence for Aaron Swenson of Hooks, who livestreamed himself in 2020 driving around Texarkana with guns and a sword, hunting for a police officer to kill. Swenson, 41, claimed ties to the anti-government Boogaloo Boys. A Bowie County jury convicted him of attempted capital murder of Texarkana Officer Jonathan Price. He was also sentenced for terroristic threats and evading arrest. Swenson is serving time in Gatesville and will be eligible for parole in July—but it’s not guaranteed.
