A 21-year-old inmate was found dead early Friday at the Miller County Detention Center. Authorities say Hayden Phipps was discovered unresponsive in his cell during a routine check around 5:51 a.m.
Detention staff, an on-site nurse, EMS, and deputies attempted life-saving measures, but Phipps did not survive.
The Miller County Coroner was notified, and his body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for examination. The Arkansas State Police are investigating the incident.
