
An officer from Juneau Police Department made a big drug bust this past week during a traffic stop on Glacier Highway.
According to a statement from JPD, on Feb. 12, at approximately 9 p.m., a patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on Glacier Highway near Sherwood Lane. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 41-year-old Juneau resident Patrick Iler. The sole passenger in the vehicle was identified as 38-year-old Juneau resident Erika Porter.
During the stop, it was determined that Iler had two outstanding warrants for probation violations.
Investigators with the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs Task Force responded to the location of the traffic stop. During the investigation police allege that they seized more than 1,130 grams of suspected methamphetamine, over $12,000 in cash, and two digital scales and unused plastic baggies.
Police estimated the street value of the controlled substances was $136,000.
Iler was arrested on the two outstanding warrants and was charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 4th degree.
Porter was arrested for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree.
Both Iler and Porter were transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held without bail.
