Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) – On 1/12/2024, the Ketchikan Police Department and the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs Task Force served a series of search warrants in Ketchikan in connection to an ongoing investigation regarding the distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The operation resulted in the seizing of approximately:

9,838 fentanyl pills- nearly a kilogram, 34.8 grams of white powder fentanyl, 252.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine, $14,411 in cash believed to be proceeds of drug sales, and a firearm.

The street value of the illegal drugs is estimated at approximately $663,000.

38-year-old Ketchikan resident Andrew C. Hanson was arrested and charged with drug and weapons offenses in connection to this case
