Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – The City and Borough of Juneau is pleased to announce that Krag Campbell will serve as the next Deputy Chief of the Juneau Police Department. The appointment is effective Jan. 1, 2024, after which Campbell will serve as Acting Chief until incoming Chief Derek Bos takes up his post on Feb. 1.

“Deputy Chief Campbell is an accomplished officer with deep ties to the community,” said Chief Bos. “I look forward to partnering with him in leading the Juneau Police Department and look forward to the things that all of us will accomplish for the citizens and visitors of Juneau.”

Campbell currently serves as a Lieutenant with the Juneau Police Department, a role he has held since Oct. 2017. He has spent over twenty years with JPD, beginning his career as a police officer in 2002. Before moving to Juneau, Campbell grew up in Ketchikan. He has earned his Alaska Advanced Police Certificate and is a 2019 graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy.
