Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – Beginning Monday, Capital Transit will launch several service changes—including new stops—to express, connector, and commuter routes to improve the travel experience and quality of service for patrons.

Service changes include:

  • Routes 5 & 6: New stops have been added near Safeway & SEARHC on Vintage Boulevard, with easy connections at the Valley Transit Center.
  • Route 7: Afternoon runs now depart at 2:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. from the Downtown Transit Center.
  • Route 8: The Valley Express departs the Downtown Transit Center 5 minutes earlier and travels along Mendenhall Loop & Riverside Drive. Riders can flag down the bus on Riverside where safe.
  • Route 9: Inbound service from the Valley Transit Center has been consolidated, with one run at 6:40 a.m. As an alternative, riders can use Route 8 which now serves Riverside Drive.
  • Route 10: This route has been discontinued. Instead, use Route 8 with stops along Mendenhall Loop Road and Riverside Drive.

A summary of all route service changes and updated schedules is available at juneaucapitaltransit.org/schedules. Google Maps Transit directions also reflect the upcoming service expansion.
