Nurse practitioner Alaina Hernandez is opening Mi Clínica Hispana to provide better healthcare access for the Spanish-speaking community. After years in healthcare, she noticed many Hispanic patients delay care due to language barriers.

“If they went to the doctor, they often had translators or iPads, but they didn’t feel comfortable,” Hernandez said. “So, they would get very sick before seeking help.”

The clinic focuses on removing these obstacles. Signs and forms are in Spanish, and the staff— including supervising physician Dr. John Baugh— are all bilingual. Even prescription labels will include Spanish instructions.

“I want the Hispanic population to know their information is private, and I will treat everyone equally, no matter their background,” Hernandez said.

Mi Clínica Hispana opens February 22 and will operate Wednesdays and Saturdays to start, with plans to expand. For appointments, visit their website or call (903) 710-1400. Mi Clinica Hispana is located at 3505 Su,,erhill Rd. Suite 5.
