
PETERSBURG – A stash of drugs, along with a firearm and paraphernalia was seized this week in Petersburg.
According to a press release from Petersburg Police Department, on April 14, officers executed a search warrant in the area of South Second Street as part of an investigation into suspected drug trafficking in the city.
The operation led to the seizure of multiple controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, cash, and a firearm. The quantity and packaging of the drugs recovered, along with other evidence gathered on site, allegedly support what police suspect has been ongoing drug distribution activity.
Items seized include:
- Approximately 80 grams of methamphetamine (packaged in sale-sized portions, with bag weight subtracted)
- Heroin
- Cocaine
- Methadone pills
- Oxycodone
- Suboxone pills
- Approximately $3,800 in cash
- One firearm
- A digital scale, numerous needles, pipes, and sale-sized baggies
According to PPD, several individuals have been identified in connection with the investigation and charges are being forwarded to the district attorney’s office for prosecution.
The investigation remains ongoing.
