ANCHORAGE — A suspended Alaska attorney has been arrested following a federal grand jury indictment accusing him of operating a drug house and illegally possessing firearms.

Justin Facey, 44, is charged with maintaining a drug-involved premises, possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking and possession of firearms by a prohibited person, federal prosecutors said Wednesday.

According to court documents, authorities began investigating Facey in June 2023 after identifying him as a suspected associate of a California-based drug trafficking ring allegedly run from prison by Heraclio Sanchez-Rodriguez.

Sanchez-Rodriguez was indicted on drug trafficking and murder charges in October 2023. More than 60 people have been charged in connection with the alleged organization.

Prosecutors say Facey continued distributing fentanyl and methamphetamine from his Anchorage home even after Sanchez-Rodriguez and other associates were indicted. On April 30, 2025, Facey allegedly had four firearms tied to drug trafficking activity.

The indictment also states that Facey, who was allegedly addicted to methamphetamine, unlawfully possessed firearms in violation of federal law.

He was suspended from practicing law on Feb. 24, 2025, after multiple bar complaints.

Facey is scheduled to appear Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kyle F. Reardon in federal court in Anchorage. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and could receive a life sentence. A federal judge will determine the sentence based on statutory guidelines.
