A Texarkana man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for his role in a deadly shooting over a dice game.

Devon Hayden, 27, pleaded guilty to murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection to an October 2023 shooting that left three people dead in downtown Texarkana. He received a 35-year sentence for murder and 20 years for aggravated assault, to be served concurrently.

Hayden was set to go to trial on April 8 but took a plea deal instead. He was represented by the Bowie County Public Defender’s Office.
