Texarkana, Texas police have arrested 32-year-old Patrick Cridell, Jr. for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection with Sunday night’s hit-and-run.
Investigators say surveillance footage helped them piece together the incident. Around 6 p.m., a silver Kia left the roadway in the 300 block of W. 25th Street, accelerated, and struck a man walking through a church parking lot.
The victim wasn’t found until early Monday morning when a Highland Park Elementary employee arrived for work and discovered him near the school’s entrance. Despite severe injuries, he had managed to drag himself across the street.
Later in the morning, Detective Thomas Shaddix found the damaged Kia parked at Cridell’s home, just four blocks from the scene. Police determined Cridell was the driver and took him into custody.
Cridell is now in the Bi-State Jail. The victim remains in critical condition at Christus St. Michael Hospital
