SITKA — Alaska State Troopers have recovered the body of a 22-year-old woman in Sitka.
On March 15, Alaska State Troopers and Sitka Mountain Rescue assisted Sitka Police Department with a search and rescue for 22-year-old Luceen Apangalook.
Apangalook had been reported missing by her family. Her body was located by searchers in a wooded area near her residence.
Sitka police assumed responsibility for the death investigation and the Alaska State Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the body.
Next of kin has been notified. No foul play is suspected at this time.
